To Inspire … To Aspire
“You can travel the seas, poles and deserts and see nothing. To really understand the world you need to get under the skin of the people and places. In other words, learn about Geography. I can't imagine a subject more relevant in schools. We’d all be lost without it.”
Michael Palin
Geography is a subject that promotes intellectual curiosity and helps pupils gain knowledge and understanding of the world around them.
We aim to ensure children have locational knowledge of continents, oceans, countries, cities, deserts and mountains which enable them to place new information into a wider context.
We promote an understanding of the world through immersive and topic based work which links throughout the curriculum, as we believe Geography is best learnt by incorporating, rather than as a stand-alone subject.
In Geography lessons, we aim to provide children with meaningful knowledge of physical and locational Geography.
We aim to give the children a wide range of Geography topics to study to create culturally curious learners.
