History is a subject that promotes intellectual curiosity and helps pupils gain knowledge and understanding of Britain’s past and the wider world.

We aim to ensure children understand history from the earliest times to the present day and how this has shaped people’s lives.

We promote an understanding of how Britain has been influenced and has influenced the wider world. 

In History lessons, we aim to build on children’s prior historical knowledge, make connections, draw comparisons and understand timescales chronologically.

We aim to give the children a wide breath of historical topics to study to create analytic, curious and engaged pupils.
