iSingPOP is a primary school music project that brings together school, church and community. Children are given the opportunity to record their very own album and perform a live concert in the local church. In our Spring term we were fortunate enough, with the support of St Peter and St Paul Church and our Friends Association, to have been able to have this project in our school. This was led by Shell Perris who works for the iSingPop organisation. She is also one of our school Governors and a parent. The whole community have come together for this event and, on Friday 29th March, we held two concerts singing the seven songs which the children had been learning all week. The impact was dramatic and it was extremely moving to hear children’s voices singing together and it was very clear that everyone who attended enjoyed it immensely.
